Areté has created Tablet-optimized views for Avail11 and Prevail11 that display very efficiently on a compact touch-screen device. Planners no longer need a sophisticated desktop setup to manage their supply chain operations; they can now simply access Areté applications through the webpage on a tablet device. Application editors now feature detailed panes and views displayed in an intuitive, touchscreen-friendly arrangement that enables a most efficient user experience.

We also present a new Prevail11 enhancement that can significantly improve our Forecasting Accuracy: Prevail's forecasting engine now accepts External Variables (e.g. Macroeconomic Variables) such as GDP, CPI, Population, Interest Rates as well as non-economic factors such as Temperature, Humidity, or Rainfall. External Variable data is used to model forecasts in a manner similar to that used for current causal data such as pricing, exceptions, and free regressors. Demand Planners can now utilize external data without the need to modify complex interfaces or data structures; they can simply enter a rule for an uploaded External Variable to visualize the impact immediately!

Enhanced Touchscreen Device Usability

Tablet Planners can pick up where they left off on their desktops without having to change the dashboard layouts or arrangements. New Tablet Layouts allow Planners to zoom in and move headers, rows, and tables without changing any core views. All desktop options and widgets stay the same for a smooth user transition to a tablet view.

The new touchscreen view has a special Drag and Drop button to easily switch views and panes for added convenience and efficiency. All tablet views and editors displays are consistent with desktop layout and the options are consolidated to fit on a more compact screen. Tablet Accessibility on the go has never been easier!

Gain Improved Forecast Accuracy using External Variables

Prevail11 now features an upgrade that allows Planners to model External Variables such as GDP, Population, Fluctuations in Interest Rates along with environmental factors such as Temperature, Humidity or Rainfall amount. This type of external source data is normally held at various levels of aggregation, unlike standard Prevail11 sales data typically received from backend systems. External Variable data can be maintained in different time buckets such as day, month, quarter and is not stored at the Prevail11 "combo" level.

We have also added a new Prevail11 feature we call "External Variable Rules" that works like the existing "Seasonality Rules" function. A new External Variable rules interface enables Planners to enter required rules for any external variables in two ways; Planners can enter rules manually in a pivoted outline-style editor or export/import to and from an Excel sheet and edit there. There is also an option to load External Variable rules in a parcel directly from an interface table, if these rules are maintained in another system.

A software dashboard displays a data table and bar graph comparing forecasted and actual values, with an annotation pointing to improved forecasts that consider external factors—all accessible for seamless productivity through our new Tablet View.

The External Variables data is treated similarly to causal data such as prices, exceptions or free regressors; the management of this type of data is very user friendly and does not require modifying data structures or existing backend system interfaces.
