Our executive team is comprised of seasoned experts who bring diverse industry experience and a commitment to innovation. Jon Spencer

Founder & CEO
Jon founded Areté Inc as Accountable Software in 1984 originally writing production scheduling software for his uncle’s medical equipment manufacturing business. He quickly branched out into other manufacturing companies and expanded the company’s offering to include inventory control, material ordering, finished good ordering, transportation scheduling and sales forecasting.
Since founding the company, Jon has built a solid team with a strong culture of excellence that continues to innovate and improve Arete’s solutions to manufacturing problems.
Jon holds a Bachelor’s degree from Cornell University.

Guillermo Garcia

VP of Operations
Guillermo has been with Arete since 2003, he is an executive leader who has consistently achieved excellent results across supply chain, manufacturing, inventory, demand planning and warehouse operation in a competitive environment. He is skilled at managing projects and clients overseas and improving processes across functional areas within large consumer packaged goods companies.
As vice president of operations, Guillermo leads our implementation team and influences the direction of software development ensuring it meets our client’s needs.
Guillermo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Catholic University, Cordoba, Argentina.

JR Humphrey

Director, Product Innovation
JR has been with Areté since 2008 and was the first member of the Product Innovation team.  As the Director of Product Innovation, JR is primarily focused on the Demand Planning suite, where he has led several product launches and innovative improvements to existing applications utilizing agile practices keeping with latest trends in the industry (Artificial Intelligence, Predictive and Prescriptive Analytics, etc.).

Additionally, JR serves as a liaison between software engineers, customer success and implementation teams while executing on-site pre-sales demonstrations, functional gap analysis, data and API integrations, cloud infrastructure and system configuration, on-site training, timeline phasing and resource planning with clients.

JR holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech, a Master’s degree in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Penn State and has a CSPO (certified scrum product owner) certification.

Victor Simons

Director of Business and Administration

Victor joined Areté in 1995 in a business-oriented position, and has worked in all areas of our business before becoming Director of Business and Administration in 2014. He has cultivated strong relationships with our clients during his long tenure with us and is an integral part of the Areté leadership team. He manages our contracts, HR and personnel, AR and domestic client relationships.

Victor has a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from MIT, a Masters degree in Engineering from Villanova, is an APICS certified Supply Chain Professional and CPIM and holds certifications in S&OP education, Risk Management and Planning.

Raymond Li

Senior Project Manager
Raymond has been with Areté since 2004 and has more than 35 years of experience with logistics and project management.  Raymond has also led multiple implementations across the globe in a variety of clients.  As such, he has valuable insight in meeting clients’ needs and utilizing the Arete suite of products to improve client operations with a primary focus on Supply Planning.
Prior to joining Arete, Raymond worked at Coca Cola China as a Logistics Planning manager and was the PAS Project Manager for Swire Beverages.
Raymond holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Hong Kong as well as multiple Master’s degrees in Information Engineering,E-Commerce and an  MBA, all from The Chinese University of Hong Kong.

Tarik Pascal

Applications Success Manager

Tarik started with Arete in 2011 as a Customer Solutions Analyst, before becoming his team’s Lead, Supervisor and now Manager. The success team that he helms is responsible for client management, issue resolutions, and overall client satisfaction. In his role as Application Success Manager, Tarik is responsible for coordinating team resources to support our Domestic and International Clients to ensure the seamless operation of all our Applications.

Tarik holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Computer Information Systems and Finance from Rider University and has a Six Sigma Green belt Certification in Process Improvement
